Angler Ryan Donovan, along with Team Second Wind, landed a 363-pound black marlin on day two of the 2018 Los Cabos Billfish Tournament.

The second day of the 20th annual Los Cabos Billfish Tournament had plenty of excitement, with the fleet of 52 boats catching 43 striped marlin, seven blue marlin, three black marlin, two spearfish and one sailfish. Teams also weighed one wahoo, one yellowfin tuna and a hefty 363-pound black marlin, caught by Ryan Donovan of team Second Wind.

Second Wind won all four levels of the day-two Daily Blue Marlin Jackpot, totaling at least $80,000 in prize money. After day two, Second Wind also held first place in the Largest Marlin Jackpot. Second and third place positions were still empty after day two.

Team Sea Angel won the day-two Daily Release Category, scoring 13 striped marlin releases on the day and earning close to $8,700. The team also took the lead in the Overall Billfish Release Points Jackpot and the Team Division standings.

Team Game Time and angler Scott Leonard weighed a 31.30-pound yellowfin tuna to win the Heaviest Tuna Daily Jackpot for $6,150. Angler Jim Smith, on the Mjolnir, earned his team $6,150, with his 43.9-pound wahoo, winning the top Wahoo Daily Jackpot. Nobody in the fleet captured a dorado that supassed the 25-pound minimum, although two fish were brought to the scales. Since nobody won the day one or two Dorado Daily jackpots, both days with roll over into day three.

Team Don Luis hooked a black marlin and fought the fish for ten hours on day two. In the darkness of night, the team brought the fish to leader at boat side. Unfortunately for team Don Luis, the black marlin came unglued. Anglers onboard estimated the billfish weighed at least 800 pounds.

All payouts to winners are unofficial until the awards night on Thursday, October 18, 2018.
