The Los Cabos Big Game Charter Boat Classic is a free fishing tournament for visiting anglers to win money over four days of fishing. The top cash species are wahoo, yellowfin tuna and dorado. But sometimes anglers catch billfish while targeting those "money" species.
Blue marlin, black marlin, striped marlin, sailfish and spearfish are release-only in the Los Cabos Big Game Charter Boat Classic. Still, the tournament celebrates and awards these catches with prizes from tournament sponsors YETI, Maui Jim sunglasses and AFTCO.
Anglers who emailed a photo or video of their released billfish, caught during tournament hours and under tournament rules, to tournament director Dan Jacobs received an emailed release certificate and were eligible to win prizes through random drawings.
