We are excited to report that we have increasing confidence that this year’s Los Cabos Billfish Tournament will operate as previously scheduled on October 15-19, thanks in large part to the swift response organized by Charo Bulnes, President of Solmar Group, whose father Don Luis founded this tournament more than two decades ago.
The permit previously held by an unauthorized third party has been rescinded. All the required permits and permissions are either in hand or with the issuing authorities pending final approval. Clicerio Mercado, one of Cabo’s most experienced tournament facilitators, has proven invaluable in the permit procurement process and is actively supporting the execution of the tournament.
We anticipate having all formal approvals in hand by close of business in Los Cabos Friday. We would respectfully request that you refrain from canceling flights, accommodations or other logistics as we work through these final arrangements. We have received tremendous support from many individuals and governmental agencies over the past 48 hours, and look forward to sharing more with you as soon as we have all permits in hand.
Meanwhile, we are now focused on preparing for what is shaping up to be one of the biggest Los Cabos Billfish Tournaments in its 25-year history.
